(This is not a complete list of rules for Single Stack Division)

Pistols made from components that duplicate the factory originals are acceptable. Frames must be metal. Modular frames in the 1911 style, which use traditional single stack 1911 magazines, are allowed. No wide body magazines, including those adapted to feed in a single column, may be used.

Weight limit: 45oz with empty magazine

No slide ports, holes, or slots. If the machining goes through the slide it’s not allowed.

No barrel ports.

Barrels must have a bushing. Bull barrels are not allowed unless your barrel is 4.20 inches or less.

No full length dust cover (rail). Dust cover can be no longer than 3.25 inches measured from the rear of slide stop pin to the front of the dust cover.

No race holsters. Drop offset holster is allowed as long as the heel of the butt of the gun is above the belt.

Minimum bullet caliber: 9x19. Minimum bullet caliber for Major power factor: .40cal

Magazine capacity: Major power factor - 8 rounds, Minor power factor - 10 rounds

Only the thumb safety is required to function and must be applied before holstering a loaded gun. Failure to apply the thumb safety before holstering a loaded gun will result in a disqualification for unsafe gun handling.

There is a maximum size for your 1911. The entire gun with empty magazine inserted must fit wholly within a box with internal dimensions of 8 15/16” x 6” x 1 5/8” (tolerance +1/16”, -0”) (8.938” x 6” x 1.625”) (227.01mm x 152.40mm x 41.28mm)

This means all parts of the gun including sights, safeties, magwells, basepads, and more must fit within the box. See the video below for an example of how we check gun sizes.
